When Pixelfox met Foxglove Awards-2020 PIXEL (FOX) GLOVE: 4 THE WIN!

We at Pixelfox celebrated our 5th anniversary this year and the cherry on the birthday cake came with our four wins at the Foxglove awards, which rightly stands by the fact that ‘creativity knows no age’!

The foxes shared a proud moment when we were (virtually) handed out our trophies. This was an acknowledgement and a boost to our tireless effort, dedication and conviction. The result of playing at our strengths and not being fearful of experimentation got us still here and it’s just the beginning, folks!

Here’s a little insight on the pieces of our labour of love and work which went on to win places on the podium and in hearts (ours first, of course).

CLIENT: SHIRO

CATEGORY: BEST POSTER

CAMPAIGN: TASTE OF SINGAPORE

The winning poster’s central focus was the merlion structure – the iconic and highly recognizable mythical creature which is also the national mascot and personification of Singapore. But that wasn’t it. We designed the merlion to appear as if the smoke wafting from a delicious bowl of oriental cuisine was forming it. A subtle backdrop of the Singapore skyline and a crisp copy made it an interesting, highly aesthetic and attention-grabbing poster. This was a perfect fit for ‘Taste of Singapore’, the month-long celebration of Singaporean cuisine and culture at Shiro. It was very well received and appreciated, turning into a golden opportunity, quite literally!

CAMPAIGN: ‘GOODNESS TO GO’ BREAKFAST CEREALS

We kick-started the packaging designs for Smoke House Deli’s breakfast cereals in their surreal, whimsical illustrations and ‘Goodness To Go’ style by understanding the ingredients, their look, shape and texture, and drawing their parallels to metaphorical objects. As Quinoa Hoops became tyre swings in a spring garden, cocoa pods became boats in a pond, and so on, the packaging turned into pieces of thoughtful art in itself. They were pretty, imaginative and inspirational- packing in all the goodness within it! We spotted the ‘silver’ lining and shaped it into reality!

CAMPAIGN: #WipeTheStereotype

Focusing on the functionality of towels – wiping, we correlated it to wiping societal issues, more precisely, wiping stereotypes. The idea at the crux of it was something every single person in present-day society, regardless their age, gender, ethnicity, religion and locality could easily relate to, and something that definitely deserved to be worked against. We put out negative stereotypical statements as though written on a chalkboard, with the negative connotations wiped off. So what people couldn’t do, turned into what people could do, when we wiped off the ’t. It managed to bring about a spark of change and inspiration in the society as well. With the impact and reach, we also got the appreciation, satisfaction and due to it!

PIXELFOX COVID EMAILER

In light of the COVID19 scare, the work from home and the incessant lockdowns, we wanted to create something that showed that we value every single association and that we’re here for whatever we could help them out with. And that got us started on our mailer which was also a care package not just in words, but the overall vibes it gave out with its joyful design! We also added a few personal tips to battle through this difficult time as well. We sent this out to our employees, ex-employees, clients, ex-clients, vendors and partners – reminding them of all the better times we have had and better times to come.

We weren’t promoting or marketing anything! Our sole objective was just to check in and care for everyone who helped us reach where we are today. It was a happy success, indeed.
